New Year's Eve

Fondue

We brought back a Derrick tradition and did

fondue on New Year's Eve.

 The 4 girls gave James a cotton candy maker

for Christmas.  We broke it in as we rang in the New Year. 

 We had dinner together, before Abby left to go out with friends

for frozen yogurt.  Later she and her friends joined us for movies

and games.  By 10:00, sad to say, Abby and Ella were asleep.

James wanted to go to bed, I insited we stay up.

I feel asleep on the couch at 11:30,

and that left James....the only one who didn't care about

staying up, awake and alone! Kind of a funny New Year's Eve.

 First Look at the presents.

 

 Kate got her huge stuffed Zebra to ride on.

  James got tri bars for his bike, new biking shoes,

and new pedels. 

 Lucy loves her new rocking horse.

Ella asked for a Teddy Bear and a journal.  So excited.

 Abby got a giant turtle and the final Harry Potter movie.

Abby made us a cute recipe book and notecards. 

 Lucy's new sled.  Our snow baby.  She LOVES snow!!!

 It was a wonderful Christmas morning.

We had a wonderful 13th Wedding Anniversary.  

This time of year is so romantic.  

It is cozy and cold and full of fun wedding memories.  We were married in the Salt Lake Temple,

and we had our wedding dinner and reception at the beautiful Joseph Smith Building.  It is always fun to go back to our spot.  This year as we stood on the new bridge at Gateway, it was amazing to think about how much downtown has changed since the year we got married. Amazing!

We have a tradition to take the kids to a movie on our Anniversary.  This year we went to see Rise Of The Guardians.  David Derrick, James' cousin is an illustrator and works for Dreamworks.  It is always fun to see movie's that he has worked on.

The Evershed's offered to take all 4 girls for a cousin sleepover.  They watched movies, played in the snow, and had so much fun.  Thank you for inviting them.

James and I went to The Cheescake Factory for dinner and then on a shopping Spree at City Creek.

They just opened an Athleta store and we had fun picking clothes out.  James' favorite store....The Apple Store.  He got a new watch band that holds an iPod as it's face.  Very cool.

Saturday morning we went and got a Couple's Massage.  Very relaxing and enjoyable.

I am so grateful for James.  13 years is a long time to love and know someone.  I am such a lucky girl to have such an amazing, smart, good looking, fun and thoughtful husband! I love you babe!

 Straight out of a book, with her curls, and blue dress. 

 Great job Abby and 4th Graders. 

Afterwards the kids played their recorders
for us.  Great way to bring in some Christmas spirit.

Christmas Cookies with Grammy

Last week James and I went to The Roof for a work dinner.

Grammy watched all four girls and even made

Christmas cookies with them.  Granddaughter heaven.

All except for Lucy who loved playing with Daisy the dog.

Good Friends

I am so grateful for good friends.
 Last week my friend came to visit.

Christina was my college roomate all the way from California.
We have so many good laughs together.

I loved that she stayed with us and miss her already!

We met up with Tom Brokaw and Alfie.

Which one will Christina choose? Ha ha!  

 I am voting for Jeff Holm.  It was our weekend 

with the rich and famous.

  We had a fun night with The Bakers while Christina was in town.

We had dinner at Little America and then went on the

window passport tour at The Grand America.

I love how well these kids get along.  So cute. 

I feel SO grateful for the wonderful friends in my life!
