New Roof

We are so excited to have our new roof.

It took 3 weeks for the whole process.

Our house feels so quiet now, no more banging and hammering.

We are really happy with how it turned out.

This is our new roof (above),

Start Date: March 18
Today is the day.  The new roof is on its way.
(Note the caution tape blocking the front door.
The kids saw it and hoped they wouldn't have to go
to school for the next 7-10 days....until the roof is done. :-))

March 26
The roof is coming along.
They are still taking off the shingles,
and have one more day still.  Thankfully,
the weather is perfect for roofing.

 One of our Smedley Traditions was making Rainbow Cookies.

Today,we made rainbows,
as well as carrots, strawberries, and faces, 

all out of colorful cookie dough.

I love seeing my girls explore with their creativity.

Abby Jane

We are so grateful to have Abby in our family.

Abby has always been a very bright, interesting person to be

around.  She loves life, to try new things, and to be active.

 Abby has loved 4th grade.  She loves to read, to learn,
to solve math problems and to help others.
She is a very kind person, and has lots of friends.

 Abby enjoys reading,
sometimes reading a chapter book in a night.

 Abby loves to ride her bike, to play basketball, to dance,

and to be with her friends.
She is also becoming a beautiful pianist.

Abby is a great example, a good listener,

and a wonderful big sister.  

We are so glad that Abby is apart of our family!

Bye Bye Crib

Last Saturday night, after laying her down to sleep...

Lucy "jumped" out of her crib.  

For a week we have tried desperately 

to figure out how to get a good nights sleep

and to still take naps....

there was the lock the door idea,
sleep in Ella's room on a mattress party idea,

Dad  and Mom stay up all night while Lucy watches movie after movie.

We finally bought a side bed rail and tucked her in
with Abby. Amazingly everyone is
sleeping through the night again.
Sisters are the BEST!!

French Braid

I did it!

I finally learned how to french braid.
I have tried to learn before....

but the final motivator came recently. Abby has to have
this fancy braided, pin curled hair for her dance competitions.

After practicing all week....I am finally proud of how it turned out!

Yay for the mom of 4 full heads of hair!!

There are lots of things we love about Ella.

She loves to write in her journal.  She loves Math,

and even knows what 6+6 or 100+100 is....AND
she reminds me....she is only in Preschool.

  Ella is a beautiful girl.  

She loves dresses and loves to do her own hair.

   Ella is a great reader.

 She loves barbies, bears, unicorns and soft things.

  

We love our Ella and we are so glad she

is apart of our family.
