Lunch at American Girl Place

6 Year Old Tradition
We have a tradition, to get an American Girl doll when you turn 6. Abby and I flew to New York in 2009 to get Kit. This time around, it was Kate's turn to go to American Girl Place in Los Angeles for lunch and to pick her first big girl doll.

Kate was SO excited to pick a new doll!

We were at the store nearly 5 hours, having lunch and looking at EVERYTHING.
Kate was trying to decide between Kanani, Marie Grace and Rebecca.
(Did I mention it was a 2 1/2 hour from our hotel in Laguna Beach...each way!)
Kanani, the 2011 doll of the year stole Kate's heart in the end.
Kanani has the longest hair of all the American Girl dolls,
and Kate could not resist her hair!!!
