Coming Home

Grammy and Papa J took great care of the kids
while we were gone.  We had lots of fun giving the kids presents,
and soveniors, and unpacking with them when we got back home.

Happy Bee Day

Happy 2nd "Bee" Day to our little busy bee!
Lucy Grace Derrick
February 16
We decorated Lucy's door with bees.
We styled her hair with two little antennas.
The happy bee on her rocking horse.
We spent the afternoon at the Zoo.
Lucy loved watching the monkeys, and finding all of the
"Dadas, Mamas and babas."
We all enjoyed watching the seals and sea lions.

We went to dinner at PF Chaing's.
Lucy got a new baby doll, a bee pillow pet,
and a huge cardboard house to paint.

We sang "Happy Birthday," and Lucy said "again."
She loved  it so much we sang it twice.
Anything for the birthday girl.
Lucy got a disco ball for her birthday.
Lots of lights and dancing! Party!
We ended the day watching the "Bee Movie."
Happy Birthday to our favorite two year old,
Lucy Grace.  We are so glad that you are apart of our family.

Country Dancing

This year we had a memorable Valentines Date.  James is in the Stake Young Men's Presidency and was asked to teach country dancing at the Stake Youth Valentine Dance.  As the dance instructors, we had so much fun!  I wish I had a picture of him with his wireless microphone, teaching 100 kids how to swing dance.  The big news was that Abby babysat for the first time while we went to the dance!  This starts a new stage in our life.  Swing dancing, and kid-less....we felt 16 years old again!
Happy Valentines Day!
I love this guy!!!

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!
A crazy, fun, unforgettable day.

James always helps the girls with their Valentine boxes.
This M&M guy has a story of its own. 3 weeks in the making, with
two casualties, this lone Red M&M is a survivor.
This year James had a great idea to build them out of clay.
3 tubs of clay later, a very cute M&M guy.
They even have a slit in the back to put the Valentine's into.
I love the hairy eyebrows. I didn't know I married such a sculptor.

James helped the girls make little mini M&M's too.
So cute!
We had a fun Valentine breakfast together,
which soon turned into a limbo party.
We have some very flexible girls!
 Go Ella, Go Ella!

Flowers, beautiful teardrop earrings, and silk pillowcases
from my Valentine! I am lucky!
In the afternoon I helped with Abby's class Valentine's Party.
We played Valentine Twister.  Cute kids, and lots of fun.
 I stopped in at Kate's Valentine's Party.
Bingo, crafts, and games.
After two trips into Salt Lake, getting to spend time
with my parents and sister Amy (fun surprise),
art class for Kate, a basketball game for
Abby, and then Ella getting sick and throwing up three times...
our Valentine night was a little crazed. We still got takeout from
Cafe Rio, and attempted a chocolate fondue pot.
The chocolate covered strawberries were a success.
However, Kate and Ella were both sick,
and didn't get a lick of anything but broth.
Sick on Valentine's day - check that off.
Lucy is the only one who hasn't gotten sick.
Please don't let her be sick on her Birthday,
which is in 2 days.
Happy Valentine's everyone!

Abby Jane

Abby Jane sang at our Bountiful Heights Stake Conference.
She has been diligently going to youth choir practices
on Friday afternoons.  It was a great experience for her
to sing in a choir with a full orchestra.
You have a beautiful voice Abby!
High Five!!
