Crazy Hair Day

This week is our school Read-a-Thon week.
The kids get to wear something everyday and
READ, READ, READ.
This is Ella's crazy hair day.
Lucy was SO worried that Ella
would scare everyone at school.
"Nobody likes a witch," she said.
Nevertheless, Ella was SO excited!

Our Little Duck

Kate hurt her foot playing on the new playground at school.
We took her to see Dr. Richards, and he diagnosed
it as a sprain.  If she still has pain in two weeks,
we need to go back.  She feels like a little duck
with the post-op boot he gave her to wear.
Poor Kate....getting some R&R.

Our Little Gymnasts

We decided to invest in some gymnastic mats.
The kids are excited to have a place at
home where they can practice their awesome tricks.

Happy 36th Birthday James

Happy Birthday James
I am so lucky to be married to this amazing man!
Today we celebrated his 36th Birthday.
We had a basketball party to celebrate!!
Exactly 20 years ago today, I gave James a basketball
keychain for his 16th Birthday at the school stomp.
Who knew where thatwould take us!!
That started a long and lasting friendship.
Tonight we gave him another basketball keychain.
This one with a key to the ward gym.
James' Birthday was on President's Day this year,
so we had the whole day to play.
We had breakfast and opened presents....lots of cycling gear.
Then everyone went to the church gym
to play basketball.  I love that Lucy even has a tiny ball.
James really wanted to go on a bike ride
for his Birthday. He lucked out with 60 degree weather!!
He and Mike Dehner went on a ride.
In the afternoon, James and I went on a date,
to do some Birthday shopping at Station Park.
He got a lot of new clothes, ties, cyling clothes,
and two new pairs of shoes.
For dinner we went to Texas Roadhouse.
The kids and I LOVED seeing him ride the saddle.
He He!!
We had a yummy ice cream cake
from Coldstone to celebrate.
I am so grateful for James!
He is an incredible husband, and father!!
Happy Birthday!!

Happy 3rd Birthday Lucy

 ~ Happy 3rd Brithday Lucy Grace ~
It has been a fun week celebrating our baby girl turning 3!!
Princess cake, princess dress, princess castle cake.
Lcuy's Birthday was on a Sunday this year.
She wore a pretty pink dress to church.
James was assigned to speak in the 16th ward,
so we all went to hear him.
We decorated Lucy's door
with Princess curtains.
On Saturday night, the night before her Birthday,
we took her to Robintino's for dinner.
I love this picture of all 4 girls,
sharing one side of the dinner table.
I am a lucky Mom to have these beautiful girls.
Lucy LOVED opening her presents.
On Sunday night, her "real" Birthday,
we had a fun dinner at The Dehner's.
Amber made the cuttest dinner menu's coded so the kids
didn't know what they were eating.
Lucy just happened to
get dessert first!
The Birthday girl was excited for us to sing
to her and to get ice cream BEFORE dinner.
Earlier in the week,
we took Lucy to Build A Bear,
for her Birthday.
As soon as Lucy saw this pink Princess bear,
she knew what she wanted.
Stuffing her pink princess bear.
She choose bubblegum scent,
and a Brithday song for the paw.
She named her bear, Sleeping Beauty.
Washing Sleeping Beauty & drying her fur.
Choosing her pretty outfit.
Lucy LOVES her pink princess bear!

 Lucy with her Lucy eyes.
We ended the day with the spanking machine!
She loved it so much, she went through 3 times. Ha Ha!
We are so grateful Lucy is apart of our family.

Happy Valentine's Day & Valentine Olympics

Happy Valentine's Day
We started the day out with pink, heart shaped pancakes.
James surprised me on Valentine's Eve
with these beautiful yellow & red roses.
He knows how much I love flowers.
The girls were excited for their school
Valentine's parties.
Kate & James made this amazing giant tootsie roll
for her Valentine's box....
Abby choose this giant Hershey syrup bottle
from It's Sugar for her Valentine's Box.
They had fun making Valentine's.
Abby folded paper airplanes with a pencil inside for her friends.
Abby dipped chocolates for her Valentine's party.
Ella, Lucy & I helped with Kate's Valentine's party.
We brought the game Valentine Twister.
We surprised Lucy with this chocolate makeup kit.
For Dinner we had heart shaped pizza,
and a heart shaped pizzokie.
Then the games began.....
we decided to created a Valentine Olympics...
in honor of the Winter Olympics in Sochi.
Game #1
The first game, was who could build the tallest
tower out of Reese's and toothpicks.
Kate & I won this with a 10 1/2 inch chocolate tower.
Game #2
For this game, we raced gumballs blowing through
straws.  The best part was Lulu's spit.
She is still figuring out blowing.  Ha ha!
Game #3
We bought a bunch of candy bars, and everyone
had their name in a hat. We drew names and
then wrote candy bar signs for the person
whose name we drew.
It was really cute to see them read their signs to
eachother.  Lots of laughs.

Game # 4
We played 7-11 or doubles and raced to see who
could eat the most candy bar. This game always brings out
laughter but usually a few tears.  It was a lot of fun though.
We had gold, silver & bronze medals for
all of our awesome Candy Olympians.
It was a fun and memorable Valentine's Day!
I love our family!
