2002 Olympics

It has been fun to reminisce about the 2002 Olympics. As part of the 10 year celebration, we were able to go the the Energy Solutions Arena last week to hear Mitt Romney speak and to watch some of the favorite Olympic skaters.

These girls know how to party!
Since Lucy had such a fun theme for her party,
the girls convinced me to help plan a theme party for their Dad.
Usually he just gets cake and ice cream, but this year we had fun
going all out for the man of the house!
We settled on a western theme, and he was a good sport!

My favorite part of the party....we hid all of his presents!!
We hide one present in every room of the house.
We gave him a treasure map and clues
to help him find all of his stolen presents.
He found all of his presents!
We gave him lots of fun accessories,
and gadgets for his bike,
including this Kinetic.
For dinner I made J's favorite...taco stack ups,
and mixed berry cobbler for dessert!
Happy Birthday to the most handsome cowboy,
this side of the Mississippi!

so we took him out to lunch at The Spaghetti Factory.

Planning a Minnie Mouse 1st Birthday party
for Lucy Grace was SOOOOOO much fun!
This party has been in the making since last June in Florida
when Lucy met Minnie Mouse at Disneyworld.
Then in October we saw Minnie in California at Disneyland.
Both times....it was love at first sight.
Lucy LOVES Minnie!
Thank you to my Mom for sewing Lucy a darling Minnie Mouse
dress for her special day!

DECORATIONS & FOOD
We had a "mini" style lunch...everything was small and petite.
Mini sandwiches, mini crackers, mini fruit cups.
We served everything in Minnie Mouse shaped bowls.
The smallest "mini" fruit cups,
and "mini" forks!

I made these magnets of Minnie
and Lucy meeting for the first time to hang from the bakers rack.
Abby & Kate painted these cute Minnie Mouse frames
with pictures of Lucy and Minnie inside!
I love how they turned out!

We made Minnie Mouse Sundaes
to go with the Minnie Mouse cupcakes.

Kate was also a great Minnie Mouse helper.
We made these cute Minnie Mouse shaped cookies
for everyone to take home.

The girls LOVED planning this fun party,
almost as much as I did! :)

At the end of the party,

Lucy Grace snuggled up with her new Minnie Mouse pillow pet,
Minnie blanket (with her name embroidered on the corner) , and relaxed.
Her happy smiles made the party PERFECT!!!
